Five-times World Champions Brazil are four matches away from their sixth trophy, but Ghana will do all they can to advance at the expense of the title defenders. The Brazilians are without Robinho for this match, as the Real Madrid striker suffered a minor thigh injury and is expected to be replaced with Adriano.

Today is the final day of the round of sixteen where the winners move on, and the losers go home. We have all most reached the final eight teams, and the quarter finals with France and Spain battling for the final spot is playing out this evening. Brazil has advanced after beating a tough Ghana team 3-0, ending the African Continents impressive run at this years World Cup.

Brazil looked as good as ever even though Ghana looked in control for most of this match. Ghana is without a doubt a great team this year, and they may have advanced further had they played another team instead of Brazil as they have all ready beaten the 2nd and the 5th ranked teams previously in this tournament. But it was not to be today and the Brazilians coasted to another win without giving up a goal. In fact Brazil has only given up one goal in this tournament (Japan scored one goal in their loss to Brazil), and for a team who is constantly questioned for their defensive play one cannot help but wonder why so many haters? Yes, Brazil won the last time around, but hey they earned it, and they continue to play with smiles on their faces, and with a style of fair play and confidence. There are certainly easier teams to hate if you dislike all time winners, and there are certainly teams in this world cup who play cheap football (no names necessary as they know who they are). So until someone beats the returning champions lets all keep enjoying the matches and keep on cheering for every team to play hard for this years title.

Final Score: Brazil 3 - Ghana 0

Goal Recap:

84th minute - GOAL BRAZIL! (3-0)

Goal: 11 - Zé Roberto

Zé Roberto does well to control a cross and beat the goalkeeper at the
same time, and can then easily score into an empty net for 3-0.

45th minute +1 - GOAL BRAZIL! (2-0)

Goal: 7 - Adriano

Adriano easily scores from a Cafu cross, and Brazil double their lead.
The question is whether it is deserved, and whether Adriano wasn't
off-side at the moment of the cross.

5th minute - GOAL BRAZIL! (1-0)

Goal: 9 - Ronaldo

It's a great start for the Seleçao as Ronaldo beats the defense and
then gets around the goalkeeper, to easily open the score. It's the
striker's 15th goal at a World Cup, with which he breaks Gerd Müller's
record of 14.

Here is the list of teams who have advanced thus far to the round of eight. Only the Ukraine and Portugal have not won the World Cup. And it France prevails those two will stay the only teams to not have won a world cup, yet.

Germany vs. Argentina

Italy vs. Ukraine

England vs. Portugal

Brazil vs. France (Defeated Spain 2-1)
