Brazil wins Copa America 2007
Caracas. Today Brazil won its 8th Copa America. The final match took place at <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Maracaibo, Western Venezuela. During the first match, Brazilian team was winning 2-0 against Argentina. Brazilian Julio Batista scored the first goal on 4th minute. Sadly, a second score was an auto goal made by Argentinean Roberto Ayala on the 40th minute. During second match, Brazilian Daniel Alves scored the third and final goal on 69th minute.
Argentinean Team showed all its strength after the first 20 minutes but was unable to defeat the Brazilians. Local commentators blame it on the very hot weather at Maracaibo and the pace of previous matches. According to Argentinean Clarin journalist Facundo Quiroga, Argentinians played badly and suffered a nightmare in the hands of Brazilians.Julio Batista - the Brazilian player nicknamed the Beast and unwanted by Arsenal - arose as the new soccer star during this match. He not only scored one goal but also led the Brazilian defences flawlessly. Argentina tried to engage in a defensive strategy aganist his lead but to no avail. This time, moves made by Roberto Ayala, Riquelme and Messi were not properly coordinated to score goals.Argentina and Mexico took second and third place of Copa America 2007
