Under the shadow of the recently completed Wembley Stadium, BBC London News, came to Carlyon Print this morning to interview the Disabled staff left with a uncertain future after Brent Council’s recent decision to close the supported workshop rendering over 25 people unemployed, staff were unable to talk the BBC as Brent had issued a media blackout order resulting in action being taken against anyone working at Carlyon who spoke to the news team, this was brought into question by the BBC, however a customer spoke of “A Community, a community 'Brent Council' wishes to destroy…” A leading Brent Councillor compared the closure of Carlyon to a act of a communist state.

A union representative also spoke of his disgust at Brent Council’s actions, A forward select committee has met tonight at the town hall to discuss and scrutinise the actions of the management level above Carlyon and the decision to close the factory by the executive committee.

The Segment aired on BBC London News at 18:45 BST via BBC One & BBC News 24 available on Freeview, Cable and Sky TV in the UK

It is available online as part of a streaming broadcast at http://www.bbc.co.uk/london

Following the television broadcast on BBC , Brent Council has 'BANNED' Cllr Robert Dunwell from visiting Carlyon Print, however as Carlyon is a council run unit, it is a public building owned by the tax payer, one wonders how this would hold up in a court of law.
