A new bridge now spans the gap between Blacksburg and Gaffney in Cherokee County crossing the Broad River. This is a look at the old and new side by side before the old steel bridge was destroyed. It will be missed by those who have lived there for a long time. The new bridge is now called the James D. Batchler Bridge.

AgonysMuse, seems interesting. Can you give us a little more info...like:

where exactly is Cherokee County?
how big is the bridge?
what is the design like?
who is James D. Batchler? What's the significance?
