Bring Your Own Big Wheels takes over San Francisco
Sometimes I wish I lived in San Francisco.
They have the coolest "get togethers" there, like the Bring Your Own Big Wheel event that took place Easter Sunday. The event involves hundreds of people riding down from the top of Lombard Street (a very steep and gorgeous cobble stone street) on big wheels, wearing helmets, shin pads, knee pads and sometimes even oversized oven-mitts for protection.
The theme of the event was big boys and their little toys, so to speak. Rest assured that it was not about "symbolizing the dehumanizing nature of the corporate world." Although we couldn't be there, I found a video on YouTube that you guys can watch or you could go to Laughing Squid's blog page to check it out first hand.
Things like this are one of the reasons why we love this city, the fact that a whole bunch of people would get together to do something completely silly just for the sake of being completely silly.

This event has a sort of "Critical Mass" feel, as SF is notorious for lackadaisical bus service, heinous traffic and sparse parking. Indeed, big wheel is the most reliable form of transportation in the city!
