Did you know that "The Force" could be the UK's 4th largest religion?

Yep, it's true. In the country's 2001 Census, over 400,000 people registered their religion as "Jedi".

In an attempt to gain international recognition as an official religion, two loyal Jedi Knights have petitioned the UN. John Wilkinson and Charlotte Law, who prefer to be known as Umada and Yunyun, have sent a letter to the UN requesting that it formally recognise "The Force" as a religion.

In the unlikely event that you didn't know already, i feel it is my duty to inform you that today is the annual International Day for Tolerance. This is just not good enough for our Jedi Knights, however. Ohhh no! They are asking for the UN to rename the day to the Interstellar Day of Tolerance.

In the UK there are more people claiming "The Force" as their religion than there are claiming other religions such as Sikhism, Judaism and Buddhism and Britain isn't alone in it's embrace of this new kid on the block. There are currently 70,000 Jedi knights registered in in Australia, 53,000 in New Zealand, and 20,000 in Canada.

May the Force be with you.....
