British Hindus in appeal to save bull
Hindus members of a <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Temple in Wales have launched an appeal to prevent the slaughter of a sacred bull. It has bovine tuberculosis. According to Hinduism, a bull called Nandi is revered as the customary chariot of Shiva. Hindu temples that depict a bull in front of them are certainly devoted to Shiva. Lord Shiva is god of Yoga, dance and destruction.
British vets have asked Hindu priest to allow this bull -called Shambo- to be slaughtered on Monday. Members of Hindu Forum said that Slaughtering Shambo would violate their faith, tradition and desecrate their temple. However, Welsh official rather have it slaughtered to protect both human and animal health. TB is a disease transmissible to both humans and other mammals.
