Bulletproof School backpacks for Children sparks debate
Opinion
Barry Artiste, Now Public Contributor
Parents worried about their children going back to school, when school shootings are making the news seriously shows how flawed society is today.
Bulletproof School Backpacks seen by some as fear mongering, may have some poorer ethnic neighbourhoods thinking otherwise.
Will this cause yet another rash of swarming by bullies looking to score an expensive backpack to sell on the streets?
Again, Some people are asking if this is necessary? Opponents state laws are in place to lay serious charges in school violence, while others state the criminal justice systems reluctance to apply those laws and the stiff penalties will just result in more school shootings.
On a Related Note:
A Website titled called "No Guns-No Funeral" Website, thought to be a concerned transparent citizens group has been discovered to have been implemented, developed and paid for by the Ontario Liberal Attorney General Mike Bryant who, and only after the media discovered this obvious ploy in his desperate attempt to get re-elected, admitted his complicity. This admittance of complicity by Bryant was only made public by him and his Liberal Party after repeated phone calls by one tenancious Investigative Reporter who was the first to smell a scam, and upon more digging discovered that the website, IP address and phone number led directly to Ontario Liberal party headquarters, after publishing his findings in the media, then and only them did an embarrassed Liberal Party admit to everything. To date all the Liberal Party would say is yes, Mike Bryant and his handlers developed the website and would only offer a further "NO Comment" about this obvious scam for re election.
Concerned citizens may ask themselves, why a website ending Gun Violence and enforcing stricter penalties when the sitting Ontario Liberal Attorney General and Ontario, Canada's Top Cop has the power to do something immediately, but doesn't. Opponents state this smells like the same old tired Liberal Party Lies about saying one thing and doing absolutely nothing about it.
Once this breaking news hits the media across Canada, most likely the Canadian readership will agree with that assessment.
My Final Thought
One place parents would think is safe besides the home is school.
Children should not have to experience the trauma, while parents growing frustration by uncaring governments who allow societies lawlessness requiring some children who may need to strap on armour to get educated.
Canadians may ask themselves, why do we have Ineffective and absolutely useless incompetent politically appointed Judges who have the tools of law to protect all of us, but don't ?
Is it the Judges that need an education, an education in Criminal Law and Punishment?
Canadians may ask is this yet another case for Citizen Elected Judges, instead politically appointed by friends in an uncaring government?
Now Public Readers can judge for themselves and visit the Liberal Developed Website titled http://nogunnofuneral.ca/home.aspx
and see for themselves that this is an obvious ploy against the Feberal Conservatives, yet the decades of Liberal Rule previous to this absolutely nothing was ever done when they were in power.

"In my opinion, it's a one-in-a-gazillion chance that that thing will work," said Oliver Salvador, who runs a local private security and consulting firm.
The creators of the backpack, however, say they're giving parents an extra chance to protect their kids.
"At least they'll have their backpack that they can hold up in front of them," said Joe Curran, a carpenter who along with his business partner Mike Pelonzi has been selling the product online through their Massachusetts-based company, MJ Safety Solutions, since last week. Once they can be sure they're legally able to export the backpacks here, they'll be shipping them to Canadian buyers as well.
"We're just trying to give kids a defensive tool to use in case something does happen," said Curran of the backpacks, which sell for $175 US.
The idea came out of concern after the Columbine shootings in Littleton, Colo., in 1999. After several years of developing the product, Curran and Pelonzi started offering the backpacks, which offer a level of protection similar to a bulletproof vest used by police, to friends.
Since they started selling online last week, they've sold out of their initial stock of several hundred backpacks.
But while they may withstand a bullet, Debbie Engel, chairman of the Edmonton Catholic School board, wonders whether the backpacks will be effective. "Think about the practicality of sitting at your desk with your backpack 24/7," she said yesterday.
Engel, who described herself as a worried parent, isn't concerned that families would feel they need to resort to a bulletproof backpack.
"Every parent worries to a different degree," she said. "You've really got a wide variety of what is warranted based on what people feel." [/q]
