What follows is yet another example of how the elites have little regard for the average Canadian. If only we knew our place!

interesting article to be sure, but the article does nothing to assert your headline. Perhaps you could extrapolate a little and describe in more detail why you think these negotiations violate this charter right.

I agree Rick. There is nothing really to make me believe that "energy security" is in our Charter of Rights. I do agree and am equally frightened that NAFTA does not allow Canada to decrease the supply of energy to the United States. I guess the rolling blackouts will continue in parts of our country, while the gluttonous, insatiable appetite of the U.S. is satisfied.

Actually, what I was referring to are the restrictions on our freedom of movement. Partway down the article, we learn:
"The leaders will get advice from an SPP council of business leaders but the public won't be allowed anywhere near the meeting—as the citizen group Council of Canadians discovered when it was blocked from booking a hall for a public meeting six kilometres from the summit."
Hope this clarifies the matter. Undoubtedly, the Government will say such measures are necessary for security, but in my jaundiced view, with Mr. Harper's penchant for "micromanaging the message", it probaby has more to do about optics.

Thanks for the clarification.
