Can you help? A6 near Asda
A motorist stopped to assist a man being threatened which resulted in a serious assault. Did you witness the incident?
Police have arrested two men in connection with an assault on the A6 near Asda in Oadby, Leicester UK.An investigation was launched following the assault which happened at around 6.20pm on Friday August 31 when the driver of a dark coloured car thought to be a Volvo and four male pedestrians were involved in an altercation.
The driver of the car was being threatened by the men when another motorist stopped to assist him.
The group of men turned their attention to the good Samaritan who was then attacked with a broken bottle. The men had a German Shepherd dog with them.
The driver of the dark coloured car left the scene during the assault.
This morning officers arrested two men, aged 18 and 21, in connection with the assault.
Inspector Mark Winters of Leicestershire Constabulary said: "Thankfully the victim's injuries are not thought to be life threatening. He has however, sustained serious injures to his face and body and is still receiving treatment at the Leicester Royal Infirmary.
"An investigation has been launched to establish the full circumstances and enquiries are underway.
"It is vitally important that the driver who was originally threatened by the group comes forward and talks to the police. He may have been injured and is certain to have crucial information about the attackers.
"We are also keen to hear from anyone who was in the area who witnessed the incident"
