Canada.com: Candy-coloured re-brand

I'm sorry. In the interest of not seeming petty I've avoided mentioning this, but I can keep quiet no longer. I HATE the new Canada.com identity. It's the worst example of a re-brand I've seen in ages. The new candy-coloured logo and thought bubbles look like they were developed for a children's chat room. Can someone please tell me who did this and why? It was no award-winning design, but I miss the old Canada.com site. At least it was clean, concise and Canadian.
