NP Rank:
Canada's worst serial killer trial has disappeared from the news

Some Canadian journalists have begun to wonder why the most notorious serial killer trial has nearly disappeared from the all news budgets. I was alerted to this through a listserv frequented by Canadian journalists.
Any thoughts out there on the way the Pickton trial has progressively vanished from the radar? I'm basing my evaluation strictly from websites: On the Globe it's no longer national news or even BC news.
Do Canadians not like salacious tales of vicious serial killings? Then why the saturation coverage of the Bernardo killings, and the ongoing obsession with the fate of Homolka? Is it a regional thing - central Canada doesn't care about wacky serial killings on the coast?
Many of those who were involved in this discussion have now moved away from the issue of whether Canadians have lost interest in the most significant serial killer trial in its modern history, and onto an intense discussion of whether their conversation should have been reported publicly.
What do you think?

I know I am sounding like a broken record, but is this a good thing or a bad thing?
Are Canadians just less entranced by perversity and salaciousness than...others? That might be a good thing.
Or perhaps are Canadians dismissive about all things West Coast? that would be a bad thing.
Your opinion?

It's very interesting how quickly and cleanly this dropped away from notice. I think Anna Nicole has been more pervasive in the news, frankly.
