Canadian Airport Secuirty Under Fire

The Senate wants the Transport Department relived of it's duties at Canadian airports because it says the Department has done very little since September 11th to improve lax security measures. The Senate suggests that the RCMP and the Canadian Air Transport Security take over. For those of you who frequent Calgary's airport here is a bit of discomforting news. Calgary rates the worst in the country for pre-flight screening.

"Canadian airports and seaports are riddled with organized crime," says the report. "There have been some well-publicized arrests in recent years, but the police know that those caught only represent the tip of the iceberg."

I wish they would have been more lax when I was there, since then I'd still have half of my bathroom stuff :/
