Cannonball ban in Texas

It is perhaps the most beloved of all dives. Its popularity is a product of how little skill it requires. A short run followed by a hard bounce off the end of the board. At the peak of your short flight, you pull your knees to your chest.

...Your ass hits the water with a satisfying smack, water explodes out from under you in every direction.

But the simple joys of the cannonball shall be unknown to this generation of Texas' kids. And the next and on into eternity.

Section L of Chapter 265 of the Texas Administrative Code was adopted in September of 2004. It regulates every aspect of construction of public swimming pools. Its aim is to make them safer, but instead they've made them boring.
