Canoe Trip Targets Oil Sands

A 1500 kilometer canoe expedition down the Athabasca River set off this week in an effort to bring more public attention to the environmental impact of oil sands development.  The trip, sponsored by the Pembina Institute, is one of many indications of the increasing concern of Albertans of the need for additional regulatory action, in spite of Premier Ed Stelmach's position that it is not necessary.
