Great anticipation is often met with great disappointment, the unveiling of the new jersey for the Vancouver Canucks was no different. Other than a some new colours and Vancouver written above the logo not much has changed. The most shocking thing perhaps is that the big orca is still there. Many fans expected that with the sale of the team the orca, which represented the corporate logo of orca bay the previous owners, would be gone...but alas.

What do you think of the new design?

VANCOUVER (CP) - The Vancouver Canucks' new home and away uniforms will look strikingly familiar to fans.

The jerseys carry the most recent orca logo on the front and the original hockey stick emblem on the shoulders.

The sweaters are in the same blue, green and white colours the Canucks wore when they first joined the NHL.

About 8,500 people gathered at GM Place to get a look at the team's new jerseys, the fifth since the Canucks started playing 37 years ago.

After finishing out of the playoffs since 2004, the Canucks advanced to the second round last season before losing to the Anaheim Ducks in five games.
