CBC has put more of its programming online, following a deal announced in March with DivX that has added a selection of its shows and clips to the recently launched video-sharing site Stage6.
Footage from The Hour with George Stroumboulopoulos, The National and other programs are now viewable on the site's CBC channel, one of hundreds offered by Stage 6. The site was launched last year by DivX, the San Diego-based maker of video compression software, and is similar YouTube and Google Video.

Nice find. The only way that networks can compete with the likes of bittorrent and Azureus is by making their content available on demand-- they can do this on their own terms (US networks show popular programs as streaming video with adverts that you dannot skip), but one way or another viewers will free themselves from the fetters of the television schedule.
("fetters of the television schedule"? Whatever, Jordan!)
