CBC - the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation - launched a Facebook campaign to "Help our country celebrate its 140th birthday by making a wish for its future."

Then the public broadcaster will "compile the most popular for Canada Day on July 1st. (Canada's birthday).

What would you expect would happen with such a bizarre project? that Canadians would wish for world peace? or might you expect that every special interest group around would try to game the system??

Running in first place:  the anti-abortion lobby.

You can see the whole misbegotten experiment here.

Tod Maffin has a write-up here

He considers it a success: "Having been on the receiving end of emails from both groups asking for
my online vote, one thing is clear — this experiment is a success at
least from the point of view of capturing people’s attention."
