<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Napa Valley known for wine and romantic encounters rarely comes to mind when talking about high end cutting edge art galleries. New York inspired MBFA (
www.MikeBolen.com) is the exception. Ensconced at the hottest corner in Napa First and Main MBFA has built quite a home. Mike Bolen has built a bay area reputation for delivering strong sales and exhibiting hot investment quality emerging artists. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />This Friday 8/3/07 Bolen has teamed up with Rust Ridge winery, Allegria restaurant and North Bay Entertainment to host another haute event in his art gallery. Bolen has built quite a following among collectors and art enthusiasts with his gallery. Opened in July of 2006 Bolen rolled out the red carpet for a New York artist filled show landing celebrity artist Guy Philoche and Guggenheim recipient and former World Trade Center studio artist Olive Ayhens. This first showing instantly put MBFA on the map and the gala reception was a celebrity filled event. Remember many A-listers quietly hang their hat in the ultra chic Napa Valley and they do come out for the right events. Celebrity guests or not MBFA will be the hottest ticket in the bay area Friday night. Bolen again put the art world on notice by landing hot "art revolutionary" Kenny Mencher. Mencher was thrown out of Hang gallery in San Francisco. Rumor is Bolen will be delivering the ultra reclusive Mencher to his party guests Friday night. Among the others showing in the gallery is again Bolen's best seller Guy Philoche, Michael Bowen, Terrence Howell and photographer Heather Sourwine.
After all this I found myself wondering if maybe by chance I just might run into Perez Hilton at MBFA this weekend. I think this may be just the Queens idea of a "yummy" time.
