The infamous Chelsea soccer club is rumoured to be looking at acquiring a new site for a stadium. The existing stadium, Stamford Bridge, was originally built in 1877 and seats 42,055; it is considered derilict and too small.
Chelsea are apparently set to move to a new 'super-stadium' close to Stamford Bridge, after the club's chairman and chief executive were spotted at a building site.According to The Sun, Peter Kenyon and Bruce Buck were spotted viewing derelict land near Imperial Wharf, West London.
"I work in the construction industry and realised straight away they were looking at large folded blueprints and drawings" a witness told the paper.
Such a move wouldn't be a surprise, given the club's desire to become one of the biggest in the world. Plans to increase the capacity at Stamford Bridge have already been blocked on safety grounds.
