Hazy skies and fog forced the headliners of the Chicago Air and Water Show to perform their aeronautic feats at a lower altitude Saturday, but spectators turned out anyway to catch the action along the lakefront.

"I wish it was high altitude because it's more exciting, but we'll take what we can get," said Kevin McLane of Round Lake Beach, who served four years in the Air Force flying alongside Thunderbird jets, helping them refuel in the air.
