Reuters - A Chinese foreign ministry spokesman
angrily denied on Thursday that the country turns a blind eye
to human rights abuses in places like Sudan in its search for
oil to help power a booming economy.
Wouldn't be surprising. There seem to be no end to what the chinese "allows" of horrible working environments whether it is itheir oil ventures in Sudan where you have those Janjaweed militiamen randomly slaying everything around them or their coal/mine workers, marble/granite workers and the manufacturing of plastic, toys, etc..
We are always quick to condem those countries like major western companies that outsource production to Pakistan, India. The fact is that we live in a capitalistic society and as long as we want the cheap stuff and dont have a ethical baseline when buying stuff, they will keep producing crappy stuff full of toxins, paying lousy wages and having bad work- conditions.
Of course China should put pressure on the Sudanese Goverment if possible, like the rest of the world should..
like the USA denies human rights violations on a daily basis... my own state violated mine.
i wish things like this were rare and so unheard of that they created outrage and quick/vast investigations globally. sadly, most earthlings don't care.

Salsa,
Hi
All I can say is..
How can people, nations, be allowed to do this..
Sad.
Probably more going on than we can ever know....
No moral fiber there.
Peace,
campanaro
