Chinese dairy products love warmth

I have an interest in food safety. One thing that amazes me in China is seeing fresh dairy products routinely stored out of refrigeration. This display in a normal Beijing supermarket is quite routine: A stack of yoghurt products, sitting at room temperature on a display case. I can only speculate that Chinese tummies have grown accustomed to the rampant bacteria growing in their warm dairy products.
