June 7, 2007 Florida - Boca Raton, Delray Beach and other cities will no longer have to fund a countywide fire-rescue dispatch, a Palm Beach County judge ruled Wednesday, giving the cities a victory both to their political wills and their pocketbooks. In a 29-page decision, Circuit Judge Kenneth Stern found overwhelmingly in favor of the cities that the county was double-taxing city residents by using property taxes to fund a countywide fire dispatch.
