Climate Canary: ski slope bites the dust

Here's the latest climate canary: the closure of a ski resort in France. Reason? lack of snow. Many people have ski'd the slopes of Val d'Abondance, but apparently, no longer.
The city council of Abondance — its name a cruel reminder of the generous snowfall it once enjoyed — voted last month 9-6 to shut down the ski station that has been its economic raison d'etre for more than 40 years. The reason: not enough snow.
This is unrelated (sorta) but in a poll released today, more people are putting climate change above other environmental issues in six moderate to conservative congressional districts:
a majority of voters in six moderate to conservative congressional districts now believe global warming to be the top environmental problem and favor immediate actions to reduce carbon emissions. Air pollution and clean air were mentioned by 40% of respondents while clean water was only cited as a major concern by 25%.
