Coal Dust Turned into Green Gold

An innovative method of transforming coal waste into a powerful new energy form has been developed by a team of scientists based in Northern Ireland.

They have come up with a chemical formula which, when added to coal sludge, produces fuel pellets which can be burned in power stations.

And it can be used to clean up anything from wood dust to chicken waste.
