Gosh, if the poor man was desensitized in Iraq, and that excuses raping and then beating to death someone, it's sure a good thing that the troops in the second world war were excused any exposure to bad things.  Just think about how mean our fathers could have been to us.  Did we do the wrong thing with the Nuremburg trials?  Maybe the SS were desensitized by all those speeches and that excuses their behavior.
