gerrypopplestone, Thanks again for another brilliant report on the 'realities' that continue to foster in-humane cruelty.
When I was a child in rural s.w. Ireland, children were expected to 'help out' – according to our capacity, but it was never under cruel duress - it was all part of family life.
We had a day off school first Friday of the month so that children could help their parents take what ever they produced to the markets. Our father was a horse trainer and breeder, so we didn't do as much labour. We did have cows, and chickens, etc. so we had our daily chores. We also had a good chance to contribute during harvest festivals when families would come together to help each other - always culminating in festive celebrations afterwards– food, music and dancing. We were blessed!
Slavery has a long history! –and will continue as long as privateers, profiteers, predators, parasites and pushers are allowed to practice "free enterprise".
