Yet another anti-Gay, bigoted neo-conservative republican bites the dust.  What is with closeted gay republicans??  - The Angryindian

-------------------------------------------

The Republican party today distanced itself from senator Larry Craig after he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct after a sex sting in a men's toilet at Minneapolis airport.

Fellow Republican senators, as well as activists in his home state Idaho and elsewhere, were withdrawing support. Republican senators called for an investigation by the Senate ethics committee.

Police sergeant Dave Karsnia was investigating allegations of sexual conduct in the airport toilets in June when he went into a stall. The complaint against Mr Craig claimed he moved his foot into the policeman's stall and tapped his foot, "a signal often used by persons communicating a desire to engage in sexual conduct". He also made hand movements. The policeman waved his badge in return.

I loved the part in his news conference where he kept repeating "I am not gay!" -maybe he shouldn't use such a "wide stance' when sitting, along with tapping his foot in sync with his bathroom neighbor.

Once caught, though, the Senator ought to have taken his cue from Jerry Seinfeld. Once, on that TV show, when Jerry and George found themselves in suspicion of gayness, they denied it emphatically. But they were quick to add: "Not that there's anyhting wrong with that ..."

There's nothing wrong with being gay, but after damn there an entire career denying civil rights to gay individuals and couples, I have no sympathy for him or any other actively anti-Gay bigot who then gets caught in the act.  Perhaps if society got over its theological issues with homosexuality there would be less nonsense like this.
