In a city where the class system and the growing social and economic
divisions are taking their toll on citizens, it is not very difficult to see
the physical differences between the classes in the Jordanian capital Amman.

One group of the pictures uploaded was taken around an old Ammani neighbourhood,
Jabal Al Lweibdeh. And the other set was taken in Mahes (just outside Amman) and in another “Suburbia”
paradise.

On the one hand, there are people who live in crowded, poorly-serviced
alleys. Places you would have to climb thousands of stairs to get to
since there are no streets that link to many of these houses. And on
the other, there are people who live in the rich suburbs and enjoytheir
gardens and pools.

The most important factor in a class system is economic power and the
unequal distribution thereof. Those pictures are testimony to the stark naked
truth of Jordanian society: inequality.

Tololy, you've convinced me you've done the work - it's authentic. I also think that you've been fair and thorough. I didn't get the sense that you were hiding your biases, or passing off other's work as your own. And great photos!

Thanks Brian. I will be writing some more on the situation in Jordan, most people don't even know where my country is!

Hi lfcastro, I think social inequality exists almost everywhere. Stay tuned for more on social inequality in Jordan and thanks for the comment.
