Rebecca Hall, the host of "Best of BC" for CTV British Columbia, didn't show a sign of being a diva on a recent shoot, but she was clearly in control. She even did her own hair and makeup.

The shoot was scheduled for the Nordic Base at Cypress Mountain.

As her cameraman, Adriano Cavina, unloaded the camera equipment from the truck, Hall went to the Cypress Nordic Ticket Booth to introduce herself to the staff. They directed her to the location, Hollyburn Lodge.

Hollyburn Lodge is a rustic log cabin, with wooden picnic tables and benches. On the day of the shoot, old fashioned snow shoes, skis and maps hung from the walls. White Christmas lights dangled from the ceiling. Reggae music blared from an unseen stereo. The aroma of hot chocolate and french fries intermingled with the smell of the black freestanding wood burning stove, where clothes and gloves were hung out to dry.

Hall stood in the middle of the lodge in her black snow pants, blue ski jacket, and black toque, struggling to memorize her lines, while Cavina used black tape to secure her microphone to her collar. The two then discussed how to organize the shoot and whether to work inside the lodge or shoot everything outside.

They decided that despite the bad weather, they would shoot outside and try to capture the beauty of the mountains and the exterior of Hollyburn Lodge in the middle of a forest.

Hall nailed her first take perfectly. Still, she went on to the second and third takes in case of problems that might show up later in the editing room.

The best shots were captured as Hall talked to the camera while skiing. She fell. The camera kept filming. Hall laughed and finished her lines.

Hall is a natural in front of the camera. She possesses a natural beauty and poise that sparkles and shines when she is being filmed. Despite the rain and cold, Hall never once complained about the temperature or asked to see a mirror to check on her appearance. This television personality showed no signs of being a diva.

Cavina gave helpful feedback, suggesting different backdrops and actions for her to do while she recited her lines.

The two laughed throughout the whole shoot even as the snow eventually turned to a cold, slushy rain and Cavina had to continually wipe the lens of the camera, constantly asking Hall if the lens looked clear.

At the end of the shoot the snowmobiles carried "the crew" back to the Nordic Base where Hall returned the skis that the Cypress Mountain staff had loaned her. She thanked them for their hospitality.

The show filmed at Cypress will air in the morning after Regis and Kelly (CH. 9 CTV) and after E talk or whatever entertainment show is on CH. 9 in the evening. Hall is also doing another promo spot called WHAT TO WEAR sponsored by Park Royal Mall.

The "Best of BC" segments are filmed once a week, with one segment being 30 seconds long. Then viewers are directed to watch a one minute segment which airs at the end of the week. "The Best of BC" airs Monday to Friday on CTV Ch. 9 throughout the day, including during Regis and Kelly in the morning, and Access Hollywood in the evening. Hall is also the host of the promo spot called "What to Wear" sponsored by Park Royal Mall.
