Safe Haven Rescue Zoo, is the new name here in Nevada. There are 4 cougars, Cooper, Tahoe, Montana, and Savana.
Residents of Safe Haven Rescue Zoo, just over the mountain from us in Buena Vista Valley. Safe Haven has just moved here from Illinois, the animals have been here only about a month, so they are still adjusting.

All of the animals at Safe Haven have been rescued from illegal owners, injury, etc. They are compromised in some way and cannot be released back into the wild. There are guidelines as to the condition animals have to be in to be released back. If it were not for places like Safe Haven and Animal Ark in Reno, these animals have to be put down.
Ileagal trade and ownership of exotic animals is big business, and many animals are mistreated as a result.
