Cows with a sense of humor....

Maybe this is  not exactly the most earth-shattering news of the day, but it's real, and it happened.

That's a real cow on a real day and it really was sticking its tongue out. And you've reminded us to think about news in a new way.

So what is news? Here's the Oxford Dictionary's take:

1. New things; novelties.

2.
The report or account of recent (esp. important or interesting) events
or occurrences, brought or coming to one as new information; new
occurrences as a subject of report or talk; tidings.

3. A piece or item of news.

4. The newspapers; (rare) a newspaper. Obs.

I especially like #2 - with its suggestion of a vast range of newslike activities, from global catastrophe to "tidings."
