I like how the reporter who wrote this story felt it was important to include the speedy octogenarian's swearing. I would have done the same thing--for balance. At least he said sorry.

TORONTO - An 85-year-old man from Thornhill, Ont., has become the oldest person charged under Ontario's new street racing law.

Ontario Provincial Police Sgt. Cam Woolley said the man was allegedly clocked driving 161 km/h early Wednesday on Highway 407 north of Toronto, where the speed limit is 100 km/h.

"There was an OPP officer on patrol in a fully marked cruiser, and she was driving along at about the speed limit when an elderly man in an Oldsmobile rocketed past her in the left lane," Woolley said.

"She tried to make herself obvious, honked the horn and waved trying to get the man to slow down and he was just fixated on going ahead ... he not only didn't slow down, he began to pick up speed and actually started slaloming through traffic, changing lanes to maintain his speed."

"He told her he was going to the bank and planning to go shopping. She explained that his car was being impounded for a week and so was his licence and he said 'God damn.' She said 'please stop swearing' and he said 'I'm sorry' and she drove him to the bank."
