The victim was shot in the back from close range. Bullet casings from a caliber-9 FN pistol were found at the location of the shooting.

Umar was riding a motorcycle on his way to a mosque for night prayers when he was shot by someone who was also riding a motorcycle.

Syamsuddin said the motive of the shooting was still unknown. The KPA and local police were still investigating the case, he said.
