Tangerang, Banten (ANTARA News) - A joint security team of
Soekarno-Hatta (Soetta) Airport foiled an attempt to transport 1,992
ecstasy (crystal amphetamine) pills from Jakarta to Jambi, Sumatra.

"The success to stop the illicit drug shipment was thanks to two
previous arrests at Soekarno-Hatta Airport," head of the airport`s
customs and excise office Rahmat Subagio said here on Monday afternoon.

In the previous arrests, the security team managed to stop shipments of respectively 1,700 and 4,000 pills of ecstasy, he said.

The ecstasy pills were hidden in computer spare parts, he said.
However, the airport`s security officers found the illicit drugs thanks
to the assistance of an X-Ray detector.

Police detained Lukman Wibowo and Sulaiman, both residents of Jambi,
for their involvement in the illegal shipment. But police were still
hunting the senders of the ecstasy who had used the cargo forwarding
service of PT TIKI JNE. (*) END
