"If my testimony would smoothen the legal process, as an Indonesian citizen and government official who also experienced the situation during the sale of the two giant tankers, I will certainly come forward to give a clarification," Boediono said at the State Palace here on Tuesday night, when asked whether he was willing to come forward as witness in VLCC sales case with Laksamana Sukardi as witness.

"But right now I am a cabinet minister, there are certain procedures for this," he said on the sidelines of a meeting on consolidation of regional administration heads, governors, and local legislative assemblies (DPRD) held by the National Defense Institute.

On November 12, 2007, Laksanama`s lawyer Juniver Girsang confirmed that his client will have former finance minister summoned as witness in favor of the suspect.
