Two boys, aged 12 and 15, have been injured in a drive-by shooting in Manchester.

The 15-year-old was standing at the junction of Lloyd Street South and Platt Lane, Fallowfield, at about 2130 BST on Tuesday when a car pulled up.

He was shot in the leg and taken to hospital for treatment.

A short time later the 12-year-old, who had been in the garden of a house in the same street, was also taken to hospital with a graze to his leg.

It is thought he was an innocent by-stander in the incident.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Manchester Police.

In an unconnected incident, two men, aged 19 and 25, were shot at as they sat in a car in Orme Street, Oldham.

They were both treated for neck injuries.

The older man is awaiting surgery at Tameside Hospital and the 19-year-old suffered minor injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
