Cambodia: Mia Farrow's Darfur Genocide Protest Ends
Opinion

Celebrities complete with their entourages on a Worldwide Mission Protesting injustices, sticking their Celebrity Noses into Diplomatic affairs in which they have no business in sometimes need to sit back and reflect on their actions on host countries which allow them entry. Cambodia really did not need Ms. Farrow to Pick at this Countries Scabs on Genocide which happened over 2 decades ago, especially since her actual protest was with the current Genocide in Darfur, Africa over 3,000 miles away.
Granted, the past regime of the Khmer Rouge of Cambodia committed horrendous atrocities against humankind, and present day Cambodia clearly disturbed by these events erected a museum to show it's people the shame it feels. Ms. Farrow and her entourage for some reason elected to showcase their Darfur protest in another country certainly embarrassed Cambodian Officials who did not need her to remind an ever present memory still ingrained in its citizenry. This would be like staging a protest in Iraq over Saddams Genocide of Kurds, while reminding the world of Germanys Nazi involvement of the Jewish Final Solution of WWII.
Why isn't Ms. Farrow and her entourage taking her protest to Ground Zero where the Genocide in Darfur is currently going on? Perhaps Ms. Farrow and Her Entourage's Bravery only extends to countries where her relative safety is assured. For if Ms. Farrow and her Entourage of Idiocy ever ventured to Ground Zero, rest assured it would be either the last we would hear from them, or perhaps the US troops would be called in to rescue them.
My Final Thought.
Ms. Farrow, Sean Penn and other Navel Gazing quasi- celebs in what seems to be them seeking media publicity and world attention for themselves know that the World's Diplomats are retained to solve problems such as these, though not perfect, diplomats have international lines of communications in which to monitor and report and hopefully end Genocide . Failing this sanctions are put in place, removing aid, and failing this, the last resort is military intervention by Western Forces. A Military in which both actors continually deride for invading countries like IRAQ due to Saddams ethnic cleansing policies in which diplomatic channels and sanctions did not work. Perhaps more deaths of men, women, children in Iraq would have continued if Saddam were free to dispense is own sick form of population control, and perhaps to these two actors satifaction in that Since the Anti Genocide Fairy hasn't made an appearance yet, Military Action is used as a last resort, despots never listen to legal diplomats, so why would these actors think despots would listen to their cause celeb incessent ramblings.
Ms. Farrow in my opinion, hampers, not helps the situation. If she wishes to protest injustices, she should start in her own backyard.

PHNOM PENH, Cambodia - Cambodian police blocked American actress Mia Farrow from holding a genocide memorial ceremony today at a Khmer Rouge prison.
At one point, officers forcefully pushed Farrow's group away from a barricade.
The Cambodian government had barred the ceremony and police sealed off roads leading to the Khmer Rouge's infamous Tuol Sleng prison, which is now a genocide museum in the capital, Phnom Penh.
Farrow and her group arrived at one of the barricades and refused to go away.
Police started pushing the group, which eventually returned to a waiting car and drove off without anyone getting hurt.
An estimated 1.7 million Cambodians died during the Khmer Rouge's genocidal reign from 1975-1979.
Farrow was in Cambodia as part of tour of seven nations that have suffered genocide to call attention to the current humanitarian crisis in Sudan's Darfur region.
