NORTHSIDE dog owners fear that thieves might be targeting expensive dogs after another precious breed was stolen from a home a fortnight ago.

Callous thieves stole a 10-week-old Cavalier King Charles after breaking into a home in the Swords area on Friday, November 9.

The thieves forced their way into the house through a back window and took only the dog, named Misty,

Her owners had only purchased her two weeks previously.

Misty was the pet of a 12-year-old girl named Laura, who had spent months saving up to buy the dog in Mullingar.

Laura’s father, Paul, told Northside People his daughter was devastated that her new pet had been stolen.

“Laura had spent a long time looking and preparing to get the right dog and she was absolutely thrilled when she got Misty,” Paul said.

“The thieves broke into our home between 6.15pm and 6.30pm when nobody was there.

“However, while they obviously searched the house, Misty was all they took.
