Fight Erupts in front of Atlantis Club on Richards Between Club Goers and Security
Linda Solomon
At Atlantis Club on Richards, a big brawl spills out onto the street at about 12:45 a.m, stopping traffic. Hard to tell how this thing got going, but about ten guys are fighting and the security people are jumping on them, trying to force an end to guys pushing and punching. VO photographer Brian Powell gets out of car and begins shooting photos. The security woman runs over. "You can't take pictures," she says.
"Yes, I can," he says. "This is public domain." He keeps shooting pictures. She shines a flashlight towards the camera to mess up the shots, but he's already gotten some great ones.
On the edge, a crowd watches. The critical
crime unit of the Vancouver police force arrive a few minutes later. A wagon accompanies them. Within twenty minutes, the scene in front of
Atlantis is calm. Read the Vancouver Observer to hear about the Odd Ball dance at W.I.S.E hall. It was hot!
