The campaign, launched on the occasion of World Prevention of Child Abuse Day, was aimed at making parents more aware of children`s rights, State Minister of Women`s Empowerment Meutia Hatta Swasono said.

"The campaign is also designed to change the mindset on the part of some people that child abuse in any form is not justified," she said at the function also attended by the chief of the Unicef representative office in Indonesia, Dr Gianfranco Rotigliano.

Mutia said the campaign which would among others be carried out through advertisements in the mass media would be very strategic to inform the public about the impact of child abuse.
