Karimun, Riau Islands (ANTARA News) - Indonesia is in the process of
deporting 75 Thai fishermen who are currently being detained in the
Batam Immigration`s penitentiary office.
The deportation of the foreign crew members was currently being
processed, Godam, an official of the Tanjung Tanjung Balai Karimun
immigration office, Karimun District, Riau Islands Province, said.
The Thai crew members were aboard of MV Mutiara Mina 1, MV Mutaran Mina
5, MV PAF 4510 and MV Pinaki 2. They were detained by Indonesia`s
marine patrol officers while fishing in South China Sea waters, last
September 2007. However, the four fishing boats were reportedly missing.
