Indonesian migrant worker gang-raped in Johor

"That is right. She is an Indonesian worker. As the incident happened in Johor Bahru we have asked the Indonesia consulate general there to handle the case," the head of workers` protection and service taskforce of the Indonesian embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Tatang B Razak, said here on Thursday.

The woman came to Malaysia to work as a maid but she later escaped from her employer and thus became an illegal alien.

The 22-year old girl was taking a walk with her boyfriend at around 10pm in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, on September 8 when "suddenly two men claiming to be law enforcers came to her and asked for her documents. She failed to show any document because she had run away from her employer. Her passport was held by her employer," Tatang said.
