More than 120 killed as two explosions hit Bhutto`s rally

"Benazir Bhutto was the target but she is not injured," said Fauzia Wahab, a senior leader from Bhutto`s Pakistan People`s Party (PPP).

Two-time prime minister, Bhutto, had arrived from Dubai after reaching a deal with Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf, which could secure her a third term as premier in exchange for her political support.

The explosions occurred when the ex-premier was travelling in a procession flanked by around half a million of her supporters.

Hospital sources are saying 124 people were killed in the blasts, Pakistan`s Geo news channel reported. It was feared the death toll would rise as dozens of the 543 injured were in critical condition.
