emmitt-jenkins-little.jpgThe Little family of Washington, North Carolina, is suffering great anguish and worry.  Their mother/grandmother Mrs. Emmitt Jenkins Little was abducted on June 16, 2007, from a nursing home in Washington, North Carolina and taken to another state.  Mrs. Little had been placed in the nursing home by her children because she required 24-hour care due to a fractured hip.  It is also important to note that Mrs. Little is 97 years old.  She suffers from dementia and is in fragile health.

Mrs. Little was abducted by her estranged granddaugther Gloria Moreno.  It is believed that Ms. Moreno took her to Gary, Indiana, or possibly Illinois.  Ms. Moreno had no authority to do so.  When Mrs. Little's children went to Gary, Indiana, to get their mother, while they were not in contact with Ms. Moreno or Mrs. Little, Ms. Moreno fabricated an altercation and got restraining orders against them.  According to the protective orders, they are forbidden from placing phone calls to Ms. Moreno or her family and from entering the State of Indiana.

Mrs. Little's children have filed a police report in Washington, North Carolina, and have been in touch with authorities in Gary, Indiana.  They have written letters to the Chief of Police in Gary, the Mayor of Gary, the Governor of Indiana and Gary, Indiana Health and Human Services.  Except for the letter to the governor, their letters go unanswered.  After three months their mother is still missing and they have not heard from her or Ms. Moreno.

The family has contacted traditional media outlets in North Carolina and in the Chicago/Gary area to no avail.
