MSF confirms three employees killed in Somalia blast
The Hague (ANTARA News) - The Dutch branch of aid group Medecins Sans Frontieres said three employees -- a Kenyan doctor, a Frenchman and a Somali driver -- were among those killed Monday by an explosion in southern Somalia.
"MSF confirms with great sadness that three of its workers have been killed in Kismayo. The victims are a Kenyan doctor, a French logistics expert and a Somali driver," MSF-Holland said in a press release.
Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF - Doctors without Borders) also said a fourth member of the organisation was wounded in the blast in the southern port. A fourth person, a bystander, was also killed by the explosion, witnesses said.
The organisation said the bodies, the injured team member and other international colleagues have been evacuated to Nairobi, Kenya, AFP reported.
"The precise circumstances surrounding the incident are not clear. MSF`s priority is assisting the evacuees and the families of the victims," the statement added.(*) END
