"I would like to take this opportunity to ask him to hand himself in to deal with this matter," case officer Mick Moran told AFP.

"He is now internationally known. Really, there is no place for him to hide," the Irishman added.

Moran would not confirm the suspect's identity, but earlier Thai police and the international police agency had named him as Christopher Paul Neil, a 32-year-old Canadian accused of posting pictures online of himself raping boys.
