COPS have got NOTHING on Kate and Gerry McCann and they will NOT be quizzed again, it emerged last night.

Portuguese prosecutors announced there was insufficient evidence to warrant any further questioning of the couple over their lost daughter Madeleine.

The declaration was hailed as a major victory for the McCanns in the battle to clear their name.

Their spokesman Clarence Mitchell said: “On the face of it, it does appear encouraging. It is a step in the right direction.”

GP Kate and cardiologist Gerry, both 39, were officially declared suspects 13 days ago.

Now back in the UK they are convinced they are being bugged by British police.

They believe their mobile phone calls and emails are being monitored by detectives collecting evidence on behalf of the Portuguese investigation.

As a result they and some of their friends and supporters go to great lengths to avoid being overheard when they are discussing sensitive issues in the case of missing Madeleine, meeting face-to-face or talking on landlines which they believe to be harder to intercept.

Their suspicions were first aroused by questions they were asked by Portuguese police which were based on information that could only have come from private conversations.

It's now seeming that the police are playing a really dirty game.

Most telephone lines are tapped, and certainly in the case of suspects. The emails would be read in a high profile case.

I guess I was just surprised because they're no longer in Portugal.

As long as your using a phone, tapping or tracking has no logistical boundaries. Mobile phone Tracking can pinpoint your approximate location.
