The Japanese government had put Indonesia in seventh place on the list of countries of origin of immigration rule violators.

"We must know about all Indonesians in Japan as there are many things they should know, mainly about their rights based on the new citizenship law," he added.

Meanwhile, the head of the embassy`s consular section, Amir Radja Harahap, said efforts to protect Indonesian citizens in Japan would be stepped up as Japanese immigration authorities were tightening their supervision over foreign residents.

"There are many things Indonesian citizens should know, including the knowledge that they should never use fake passports or violate the conditions of stay permits as doing so would only put Indonesia and the workers themselves in difficulties," he added.
